Many fabric stores call their sets of Fabric Squares "Charm Packs". Fabric Squares, or Charm Packs, are usually sold in sets that are related by color or a theme. The themes can range from flowers to holidays, or from cartoon characters to fairy tales.

Whether you decide to buy Fabric Squares to use for the entire quilt or to use as a theme for your other fabrics, you will first want to decide on the size of the Fabric Squares you will need. They come in sizes that range from 2 inch squares all the way up to 12 inch squares. The most popular size seems to be the 4 inch squares as it creates the size quilt square that most patterns require.
