Calico and Traditional Fabrics

In the United States "Calico" is  a fabric with a small, all over print.  In the United Kingdom it refers to an unbleached cotton or muslin fabric.

Calico is one of the oldest fabrics known.  It was originally finely woven and was especially popular in America during the nineteenth century.

Today, Calico is used in quilts and in hand sewn clothing.
