Rayon tends to age poorly. It turns yellow and forms small areas of roughness where the fabric is most heavily worn.
Rayon is easy to dye, highly absorbent and drapes well. These properties cause it to be used in a variety of textiles, including shirts and skirts. Rayon can be in the woven and knitted forms. It is an excellent alternative to silk and is therfore used in evening gowns and other flowing garments.
