Synthetics and Fabric Blends
A Fabric Blend is when two or more different fibers are combined into one fabric. Fabric Blends that contain a natural and a synthetic fibers are less expensive and easier to care for than the 100% natural fabric.
Polyester/Cotton blends give Cotton a permanent press property and extend the wear of the clothing. Lycra, or spandex, is often blended with natural fibers such as wool, linen, cotton, and silk, rayon and polyester microfiber. While the blends look like their all natural counterparts, they have a degree of stretch not present in the natural fiber and are more resistant to wrinkling.
Synthetics are fabrics that are not made with natural fibers. They are fabrics made with man-made fibers such as polyester, nylon and spandex.
