Taffeta Fabrics
Taffeta is a smooth, crisp woven fabric made from silk or synthetic fibers. Taffeta is a high-end fabric that is used in prom dresses, wedding dresses and ball gowns. It is also used in home decor items such as curtains and wall coverings.
There are two different types of Silk Taffeta, which are yarn dyed and piece dyed. Piece dyed Taffeta is soft and is used in linings. Yarn dyed Taffeta is used in evening dresses and is much stiffer.
